Dr. Klaus Rennings is Acting Head of the Research area “Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Management“ of the Centre of European Economic Research (ZEW). His main fields of research are: Environmental Economics, Ecological Economics; Development and Valuation of Concepts for Sustainable Development and a Green Economy; Innovation oriented Environmental Policy.

Klaus Rennings has widely published in journals such as Ecological Economics and Journal of Evolutionary Economics. He is experienced as leader of big national and international inter- and transdisciplinary projects since 15 years, from the H2020 project green.eu (“European Global Transition Network on Eco-Innovation, Green Economy and Sustainable Development”) to the FONA projects “Lead Market Strategies: First Mover, Early Follower and Late Follower” and “The Social Dimension of the Rebound Effect”. He is member of the committee environmental and resource economics of the German Economic Association (Verein für Socialpolitik).
